Workshop #1 – ADJUSTMENTS

Laurel Van Matre is known for her in-depth understanding of alignment and ability to break down the yoga poses that elude us most. In this workshop she will make them easy and accessible in a way you’ve never practiced before and you will never forget because with the proper alignment they actually FEEL GOOD in your body. You will never be so excited about building triangle pose from the ground up again.

The ‘Adjustments Workshop’ is the first of the Saturday Workshop Series for Winter, 2018. These workshops are designed to be available to anyone, teacher or student, wanting to learn more. They are meant to be collaborative, meaning Laurel will take into account who is in the room and what questions you may have. These workshops are meant to be taken again and again adding a stronger foundation to your toolkit everytime you attend. We highly recommend.

Workshop #2 – HANDSTANDS and INVERSIONS

Been trying for weeks (months, years even?!) to stick a handstand or find stability in a headstand? In this workshop Laurel will take you through a sequence of poses designed to break-down the actions needed in your practice to create the strength, flexibility and understanding you need to achieve inversions with confidence. This is a ‘workshop’ style set-up meaning we will stop and start and ask questions during the 3 hour time frame.

Workshop #3 – THERAPEUTICS

As a yoga student, teacher and trainer for 21+ years, Laurel has made it her daily work to learn to understand the mechanics, or alignment of each asana, in a way that helps us set a strong foundation in each pose and create strength in the muscles that support holding healthy curves the spine. She teaches her students to practice in a way that give us the physical benefits of yoga and also supports our muscles and bones as we grow and age. In this workshop Laurel will teach us how she applies her understanding of alignment in a way that can help us therapeutically in our yoga practices to relieve pain from misalignments such as: sciatica, bulging or ruptured discs, plantar fasciitis, sacral instability, low back pain, carpal tunnel, shoulder blade instability and tension headaches.
